iPad Mini for Home Control
October 31, 2012
As you have probably heard, this week Apple announced the iPad Mini – a smaller version of their wildly successful iPad tablet. With its 7.9 inch display, and more compact size, Home Automation specialists are rubbing their hands together at the possibilities this new product will bring!
The iPad Mini’s smaller profile makes it the perfect size to be built into a wall, and Docking Station manufacturers across the globe are racing to accommodate this new member of the Apple family. Priced at $329 for the entry level model, the cost of outfitting a home with control panels continues to drop dramatically! Industry experts project a 4 to 6 month wait before the first in-wall products arrive on the market for iPad Mini.
While just a few years ago, $329 would get you a low resolution, 3.5″ touchscreen with barely enough processing power to carry out the most basic home automation tasks, the quantum leap in tablet technology has allowed Home Automation companies to provide a better finished product for far less money!
